Watched 3 shark movies at the weekend, going to briefly review them here.
Of all the silly Shark movies that came out over the last few years, Sharktopus is definitely one of them, which I longed to see. The film is about a half shark, half octopus hybrid, on a killing rampage. Starring Sara Malakul Lane and Eric Roberts, and Produced by Roger Corman, it’s full of silly situations, gory deaths, and humour. The sharktopus was actually surprisingly well done, and I have to admit I enjoyed it. Want to see it’s two sequels, Sharktopus Vs Pteracuda and Sharktopus Vs Whale Wolf. 4 out of 5.
SAND SHARKS (2011)
I’ll admit, Sand Sharks was another film I had longed to see. It’s basic premise is an Island is planning a beach party, and it gets attacked by sharks that can swim in sand, like its water. It’s full of silly situations, silly deaths, and cheesy effects. It isn’t that bad of a movie, but it does drag in places, and there are some cringe worthy moments. I still enjoy this movie quite a bit, and Brooke Hogan was rather good in this movie. 3 1/2 out of 5.
MEGA SHARK VS GIANT OCTOPUS (2009)
The final shark movie was 2009’s Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus, made by Asylum Films, a company known for cheesy bad movies, so my expectations were low on this one. The film is actually rather slow, with few death scenes, and a almost non-existent battle between the mega shark and giant octopus. Deborah Gibson was the biggest highlight for me in this one. Seen worse movies, and to some degrees actually enjoyed it. 3 out of 5.
I WILL BE WATCHING AND REVIEWING MORE SHARK MOVIES SOON, INCLUDING SOME IN THE GALLERY BELOW;
